I originally decided to start a blog at the same time I started climbing Munro's (Scottish mountains above 3,000 feet). I thought it would be a good way to keep track of my progress and a good way to organise all the images and memories of each day. As time has passed I realised there were lots of non Munro related outdoor adventures I wanted to document including moorland walks and fishing trips. Hence the name. Mountain, Moor and Loch comes from the name of an 1894 guidebook about the West Highland line. I've used it as the title of this blog as it describes what i'm all about, i'm never happier than when i'm sitting on top of a mountain, wandering across a moor or fly fishing on some remote hill loch.
I'm married to my wonderful wife Rhonda who puts up with my boring stories from the mountains, moors and lochs and we share our home with Alfie, our 4 year old Cocker Spaniel.
